Le programme des chiens-guides de la Fondation des Lions du Canada et son programme fondateur Vision canine Canada ont vu le jour en 1983. CHIENS D\u2019ASSISTANCE ET CHIENS DE FAMILLE<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

Les chiens d\u2019assistance et les chiens de travail sont particuli\u00e8rement dou\u00e9s \u00e0 cet \u00e9gard, car leur nom est souvent utilis\u00e9 durant leur entra\u00eenement, et toujours de la m\u00eame mani\u00e8re. Ce n\u2019est pas toujours le cas avec les chiens de famille, car on leur donne souvent divers surnoms.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n

AU SUJET DE CETTE CAPACIT\u00c9<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Des exp\u00e9riences sur le comportement canin r\u00e9alis\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Maryland (\u00c9tats-Unis) ont montr\u00e9 que les chiens entendent leur nom aussi bien, sinon mieux, que les bruits ambiants.<\/span><\/p>\n

Autre caract\u00e9ristique int\u00e9ressante : <\/strong> la familiarit\u00e9 de la voix qui l\u2019appelle et la communication non verbale ne semblent pas influer sur la capacit\u00e9 du chien \u00e0 reconna\u00eetre son nom. On en est venu \u00e0 cette conclusion apr\u00e8s avoir observ\u00e9 que les chiens r\u00e9agissaient \u00e0 leur nom m\u00eame s\u2019ils l\u2019entendaient dans un haut-parleur et qu\u2019il \u00e9tait prononc\u00e9 par un \u00e9tranger. <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n

POURQUOI EST-CE IMPORTANT?<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

Il peut \u00eatre utile de voir son chien r\u00e9pondre de mani\u00e8re appropri\u00e9e lorsqu\u2019on l\u2019appelle dans un environnement anim\u00e9 ou dans un contexte stressant.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les personnes utilisant des chiens de travail pourront aussi tirer profit de cette caract\u00e9ristique. Dans des situations stressantes ou intenses o\u00f9 ils sont soumis \u00e0 de multiples stimuli, ces chiens doivent \u00eatre capables de r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 leur nom et aux ordres importants, m\u00eame s\u2019ils sont prononc\u00e9s par une voix \u00e9trang\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n

TOUS LES CHIENS NE SONT PAS PAREILS<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Si l\u2019effet \u00ab cocktail party \u00bb ne s\u2019applique pas \u00e0 votre chien, ne vous en faites pas. Cela ne veut pas n\u00e9cessairement dire que quelque chose cloche chez lui. Peut-\u00eatre que votre chien ne r\u00e9pond pas \u00e0 son nom m\u00eame dans un contexte normal, ce qui peut s\u2019expliquer par diff\u00e9rentes raisons. <\/span><\/p>\n

Par exemple, il se peut qu\u2019il ne comprenne pas ce que vous voulez, que son sens de l\u2019ou\u00efe ait diminu\u00e9 ou tout simplement qu\u2019il n\u2019ait pas envie de vous \u00e9couter. <\/span><\/p>\n
