APER\u00c7U<\/strong><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>

Les chiens, comme les humains, peuvent souffrir de reflux acide ou reflux gastro-\u0153sophagien.\u00a0 Le reflux acide est assez courant chez les chiens et, m\u00eame si les chiots sont plus \u00e0 risque, les chiens de tous \u00e2ges peuvent en \u00eatre atteints.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

Au cours d\u2019un \u00e9pisode de reflux gastrique, il se produit un \u00e9coulement en sens inverse de liquides gastriques ou intestinaux dans l\u2019\u0153sophage (le tube qui relie la gorge \u00e0 l\u2019estomac). Les liquides gastriques sont des liquides tr\u00e8s acides, presque incolores, s\u00e9cr\u00e9t\u00e9s par les glandes de la muqueuse de l\u2019estomac et n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 la digestion.<\/p>

Ces acides peuvent endommager la muqueuse protectrice de l\u2019\u0153sophage et provoquer une inflammation de l\u2019\u0153sophage (\u0153sophagite).<\/strong><\/em><\/p>


SYMPT\u00d4MES
<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>

Habituellement ressenti apr\u00e8s les repas, le reflux acide peut provoquer des l\u00e9sions \u00e0 la muqueuse de l\u2019\u0153sophage<\/span><\/p>

L\u2019\u0153sophagite l\u00e9g\u00e8re est caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e par une l\u00e9g\u00e8re inflammation de la muqueuse, tandis qu\u2019une \u0153sophagite plus grave provoque des l\u00e9sions des couches plus profondes (ulc\u00e8res) de l\u2019\u0153sophage. La r\u00e9gurgitation d\u2019aliments non dig\u00e9r\u00e9s, de mucus ou de liquide est un sympt\u00f4me courant. <\/span><\/p>

Votre chien peut ressentir de la douleur en avalant (et la manifester en pleurant ou en criant lorsqu\u2019il mange), et pr\u00e9senter par cons\u00e9quent une baisse d\u2019app\u00e9tit et une perte de poids. \u00c0 l\u2019oppos\u00e9, il peut engloutir la nourriture de fa\u00e7on excessive et d\u00e9montrer de l\u2019hypersalivation ou de la toux. De la fi\u00e8vre et une salivation excessive peuvent aussi \u00eatre not\u00e9es dans les cas d\u2019\u0153sophagite grave.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

CAUSES<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>

Le reflux gastrique peut survenir en raison d\u2019un mauvais positionnement lors d\u2019une intervention sous anesth\u00e9sie qui entra\u00eene le rel\u00e2chement de l\u2019ouverture (sphincter) entre l\u2019estomac et l\u2019\u0153sophage. <\/span><\/p>

L\u2019absence de je\u00fbne avant l\u2019anesth\u00e9sie peut \u00e9galement entra\u00eener un reflux gastro-\u0153sophagien. Une hernie hiatale cong\u00e9nitale (pr\u00e9sente \u00e0 la naissance) et le cancer de l\u2019\u0153sophage sont des exemples de troubles m\u00e9dicaux pouvant augmenter le risque de reflux gastrique. Les vomissements chroniques s\u2019associent \u00e9galement \u00e0 une augmentation du risque de reflux gastrique.<\/span><\/p>

DIAGNOSTIC<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>

En plus de l\u2019examen g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, votre m\u00e9decin v\u00e9t\u00e9rinaire effectuera une \u0153sophagoscopie, soit un examen au moyen d\u2019une cam\u00e9ra interne pour visualiser la muqueuse \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de l\u2019\u0153sophage. <\/span><\/p>

Cette intervention sert \u00e0 d\u00e9tecter un saignement actif ou une surface irr\u00e9guli\u00e8re de la muqueuse \u0153sophagienne de votre chien, et \u00e0 d\u00e9terminer si les changements observ\u00e9s dans l\u2019\u0153sophage sont compatibles avec une \u0153sophagite associ\u00e9e au reflux gastro-\u0153sophagien. <\/span><\/p>

Les autres diagnostics possibles comprennent l\u2019ingestion d\u2019un agent caustique, la pr\u00e9sence d\u2019un corps \u00e9tranger ou d\u2019une tumeur dans l\u2019\u0153sophage, une hernie hiatale ou une maladie de la bouche ou de la gorge. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>


TRAITEMENT
<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>

Un changement dans l\u2019alimentation est recommand\u00e9, en plus des options de traitement du probl\u00e8me primaire. <\/span><\/p>

Votre m\u00e9decin v\u00e9t\u00e9rinaire vous conseillera peut-\u00eatre de ne pas donner de nourriture \u00e0 votre chien pendant un ou deux jours pour permettre \u00e0 son \u0153sophage de gu\u00e9rir, et de suivre par la suite un r\u00e9gime \u00e0 faible teneur en prot\u00e9ines et en mati\u00e8res grasses servi en petits repas fr\u00e9quents. Ce r\u00e9gime alimentaire est efficace, car le gras diminue la force du muscle qui s\u00e9pare l\u2019estomac et l\u2019\u0153sophage, et les prot\u00e9ines stimulent la lib\u00e9ration d\u2019acide gastrique. <\/span><\/p>

Votre m\u00e9decin v\u00e9t\u00e9rinaire pourrait aussi prescrire des m\u00e9dicaments pour renforcer le sphincter gastro-\u0153sophagien et am\u00e9liorer la digestion de votre chien. <\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
