Following months of anticipation from animal-lovers in the area, PetSmart has finally opened the doors of its first-ever downtown Toronto location.

Canada’s largest specialty pet retailer is ready to service the dedicated pet owners within the area. Situated in Toronto’s pet-centric Liberty Village neighbourhood, the store offers unique services and solutions to the surrounding community.

With 6,331 sq ft of retail space, there’s ample room for pets and pet parents to roam around and explore their comprehensive line of pet products and services.

The new location features a full-service grooming salon. Is your pet in need of a post-quarantine haircut? Not to worry, the new salon will take care of your dogs. They will receive hands-on care from the academy-trained, safety-certified stylists who help make your pets look and feel their best.

PetSmart carries an abundance of distinctive pet food, treat, toy, and apparel products and brands not available elsewhere. For example, Arcadia Trail, an outdoor line for active dogs (and adventure cats), has life jackets, dog backpacks, and hands-free leashes, as well as portable water bowls and bottles designed to go anywhere with your pet.

Specialty pet owners who love lizards, snakes, birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, and fish will now have easy access to all the essential products they need right at their doorstep — products which can sometimes be hard to find in downtown Toronto.

For those looking to add a new furry friend to their family, pet adoption services will be available through PetSmart’s registered Canadian Charity, PetSmart Charities of Canada.

Since its inception, PetSmart has never sold dogs or cats in stores, but instead has partnered with local animal rescue organizations and humane societies to bring adoptable pets into stores where they have their best chance of being adopted.

The new Liberty Village location will be partnering with the Toronto Cat Rescue in an effort to help more cats and kittens find loving forever homes.

Across Canada, PetSmart Charities of Canada partners with more than 200 local rescues and animal welfare organizations. So far, they have facilitated nearly 330,000 adoptions in Canadian PetSmart stores since 1999.

With the help of their passionate associates, PetSmart remains committed to bringing pet parents closer to their pets so they, together, can live more fulfilled lives. This vision informs everything they do, from educating customers, to supporting their employees, and giving back to the community.
