Canada Post is urging dog owners in Swift Current to help ensure the safety of their delivery employees.
The postal service delivers to over 7,200 homes in Swift Current, where delivery personnel frequently encounter dogs.
A social media campaign called “What Daisy Will Do?” is encouraging dog owners to take responsibility for their pets’ behavior when Canada Post workers are in the area.
Steps that dog owners can follow include exercising caution when answering the door, securing dogs indoors, in a fenced yard, or in a separate room, away from the front door or mailbox. It’s also advised to keep front doors and fence gates closed and prevent dogs from approaching screen doors, even if they are locked.
