A canine-loving Canadian broke a Guinness World Record by taking 38 dogs on a single walk for over half a mile.

Mitchell Rudy led a group of 38 leashed dogs on a 0.6-mile walk to set a new Guinness World Record for the most dogs walked simultaneously by one person.

The previous record of 36 dogs was established in Goesan, South Korea.

The dogs involved in Rudy’s record attempt were provided by the Korean K9 Rescue shelter.

“Many of these dogs have come from the puppy mill industry or former meat harvesting areas,” Rudy shared with GWR. “They’ve been rescued by KK9R and other agencies in Korea. There’s a lot of stigma surrounding rescue dogs, but they’re wonderful animals that deserve loving homes; they just need a little care.”

Rudy emphasized that his record attempt was focused on promoting dog adoption.

“We wanted to showcase these dogs as the champions they truly are,” he said. “They’re good dogs, and they deserve to find homes.”
