Call it a pup drop.

Representatives from the Toba Centre for Children and Youth, which aims to restore the health and wellbeing of those affected by child abuse, and Duke, the organization’s dog, performed the ceremonial puck drop before the Winnipeg Jets and St. Louis Blues game at Canada Life Center on Monday.

October is Child Abuse Awareness month in Canada. To aid in the Toba Centre’s efforts, the Jets donated $50,000 to the organization. The team also arrived at the arena wearing blue, as the blue ribbon is a symbol of child abuse awareness and prevention.

Duke had the whole crowd’s ears up and ready to listen.
