As part of Japan Week 2025, the 6th edition of this gigantic gathering of Shiba and Akita dogs will also include a kimono parade.

Attention all dog lovers—Montreal’s biggest dog celebration is back!

Are you obsessed with Shibas, Akitas, and the elegance of traditional Japanese attire?

As part of Japan Week, the 6th edition of Canada’s largest Shiba and Akita meetup is coming to town, bringing together over 200 of these beloved pups in one joyful gathering.

And there’s more—this year’s event also features a kimono and yukata meetup, adding an extra splash of culture and color to the festivities.

Hosted by the SDC Côte-des-Neiges, this one-of-a-kind celebration offers Shiba and Akita owners a chance to connect, share stories, and show off their furry companions. Whether you’re a proud pawrent or just a fan of these iconic breeds, prepare for an unforgettable day filled with wagging tails, cultural flair, and pure dog-lover joy.
