On Sept. 27, Orillia will be having a virtual Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides.
All participants can walk virtually to raise money for the Lions Foundation of Canada or people can make donations to any of the registered walkers. All money raised goes toward the care and training of these amazing service dogs.
The Lions Foundation of Canada trains service dogs for differently abled Canadians in six different training programs, including autism assistance dogs — canine companions for children on the autism spectrum — Canine Vision Canada dog guides for individuals who are blind or visually impaired, diabetic alert dogs for people diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, hearing ear dogs for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, seizure response dogs for people who are diagnosed with epilepsy, and service dogs for people in wheelchairs.
Please provide any support you can by going to the Lions Foundation of Canada Pet Valu virtual Walk for Dog Guides Orillia page.
“As a fortunate recipient of my fourth dog guide, I am honoured to pay my gratitude forward by promoting this event,” said Laura Joyce, organizer of the Orillia walk.
